Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging small-group and one-on-one tutoring sessions in assigned subject areas, ensuring active participation and understanding.
• Develop a clear syllabus and structured lesson plans.
• Create and update original resources, practice materials, and study guides aligned with Empowered Education’s curriculum standards.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback on student performance and progress, ensuring consistent improvement.
• Support students in mastering complex concepts, test strategies, and time management skills to enhance their overall performance.
• Maintain professional and timely communication with students and the Empowered Education administrative team.
• Assist in training and follow-up meetings provided by Empowered administrators to ensure consistency and quality across all programs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities — including Empowered-led trainings and external platforms like Coursera — to strengthen content mastery and teaching strategies.
• Share insights and new techniques with fellow tutors to promote collaboration, continuous learning, and program-wide growth.
• Uphold Empowered Education’s academic and ethical standards, fostering an encouraging and supportive environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing one) in a relevant field.
• Strong expertise in the subject(s) being tutored.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple students.

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling student information.
• Respond to student and parent inquiries in a timely and supportive manner.
• Adhere to deadlines for reviewing and providing feedback on assignments and progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with Empowered Education leadership regarding student progress.
• Stay updated on best tutoring practices and relevant educational resources.
• Uphold the mission and values of Empowered Education while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Payment, bonuses, and compensations

• Payment depends on the number of students and the type of package they are enrolled in.
