Roberto Hasbun is the founder of Avanza Education, where he has mentored 500+ students to strategically position themselves for top global universities.As a Honduran student navigating the highly competitive U.S. admissions system without insider guidance, Roberto experienced firsthand how complex and inequitable the process can be. Through a highly intentional and strategic approach, he earned admission to both Princeton University and Columbia University for undergraduate studies—ultimately completing his Bachelor of Arts in History at Princeton University—while securing over $400,000 in scholarships and financial aid.He later pursued a Master’s in Management at Cornell University with a $35,000 merit scholarship. After working in energy consulting, Roberto founded Avanza to provide what most high-achieving students lack: a structured, strategic, and personalized approach to to the college admissions process. His mission is to empower the next generation of students to get into top universities worldwide.
Book a free consultation with one of Empowered’s enrollment specialists. In this introductory call, we will discuss your child’s academic background, goals, and passions. You will learn more about our services and methodology and fill out an enrollment form if you want to proceed.
Based on the student’s academic interests and educational goals, Empowered will match the student with one of our College Coaches. This Coach will serve as a mentor in the college application process.
Students will meet 1-on-1 to complete every aspect of the application under the supervision and guidance of their coach. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the resources Empowered offers, including a unique College Admissions 101 Webinar series, our ADMITTED e-book, CCS Profile guide, among others. When you work with Empowered, you are supported by our comprehensive resource library.
After meeting 1-on-1 with your coach and perfecting your application materials, the student will send his or her college applications.
